The need to encourage businesses to create the chance for individuals and teams to stop and think became apparent during the UK Lockdown in 2020. The NHS was overstretched during the pandemic and staff were burnt out. This defeated sentiment echoed throughout the business sector where individuals and teams were made to work from home, isolated from their peers and support networks. Individuals’ passion for their job shrunk and teams struggled to achieve the level of productivity that was required to be efficient. A lack of time and unrealistic expectations became the norm, pushing individuals and teams to breaking point.
Creating…Space™ was designed to uplift businesses, their teams and individuals during, and especially post, Covid. An organisation’s most important asset is its people. People are the ones who improve efficiency and systems, but they must be engaged and motivated to do so. All too often people development is done in isolation. Upskilling staff isn’t seen as a priority or of value in comparison to meeting business needs or development, thus continually remaining on an organisation’s backburner.
Our initiative Creating…Space™ reconnects an organisation with its teams and individuals to foster professional growth, sustainable business and a resilient culture that enables each party to thrive in uncertain times.
Ultimate Learning Resources (ULR) helps businesses achieve and sustain this organisational transformation through the following Creating…Space™ framework, which shows how ULR helps individuals and groups transform their thinking and actions through a proven mix of tools, learning support and coaching.

Our Creating…Space™ framework helps teams and individuals adjust how they think (mindsets and beliefs) and how they act (behaviours and habits) in the workplace.
The ULR team focuses on four key methods to conduct a successful organisational transformation. (Centre of diagram)
Assumption Hunting
Our team helps individuals uncover hidden beliefs that might limit their progress.
For example:
NHS nurses may fall victim to “Assumption hunting” where they decide that something is the best course of action and progress with implementing it without first stopping to think if that plan is best.
Infectious Dynamics
Our team will then look at how group behaviour, attitude and mindset spreads and influences others (the ripple effect).
For example:
A company hires a new manager for a sales team. He brings a positive, proactive mindset, always recognises effort and asks for feedback.
A few team members start doing the same; showing appreciation and helping each other improve. Others notice and join in. Within a few weeks, the team’s energy improves.
Contracting that Counts
Our team will then speak with individuals and teams to focus on making clear agreements and expectations.
For example:
The ULR team implemented the CAPE intervention with an NHS Trust, which transformed how nurses kept their patient notes and empowered patients to be the hero in their care.
CAPE stands for:
Contract, Assess, Plan, Exit
Nurses now use CAPE to outline the roles and expectations of the patient and themselves, agreeing upfront the timeframes, targets and session details.
Contracting that counts ensures that expectations aren’t just assumed—they’re explicit, clear, mutual, and meaningful. Individuals and teams are aligned, focused and accountable, with no confusion or uncertainty going forward.
Beyond 1:1 (One-to-One)
ULR goes further than providing individual coaching to achieve institutional change. We deliver group learnings to help enhance teams’ productivity and output. Learning in a group setting allows individuals to discuss their shared experiences and unique perspectives, significantly enhancing their time efficiency at work.
Support system (Middle circle)
The four key methods mentioned above are supported by an online learning portal system to help individuals and teams learn, upskill, and monitor their progress while developing their core competencies and leadership style. You can learn more about our “white label” online learning portal here!
Delivery methods (Outer circle)
To further support your business’s individuals and teams, ULR reinforces our four key methods and online learning portal with coaching sessions for individuals (121) and groups. These sessions help ensure that learning is embedded into your business’s daily practice for lasting organisational change. You can learn more about our Workplace coaching and mentoring here!
At ULR, we firmly believe in the power (and necessity) of taking the time to create space for the individual, team, and organisation. Be the business that prioritises staff wellbeing and invests in personal and professional development. You’ll unlock your team’s core strengths, improve your business’s culture and performance and see a team that’s engaged, independent and ready to achieve ambitious goals.
